Since 2020, "Babelsberg FILMUNIversum" - a joint initiative of Filmuniversität Babelsberg KONRAD WOLF and rbb media - grants a FIRST LOOK at current documentaries. Films 2022 "The Fantastic Life of Ms. Bacon" is a piggish reality documentary about the life of the domestic pig Pebbels. The film "Oh, how free is Panama?" shows the increasing social isolation of a Corona denier. Childhood violence and its traumas are the subject of the documentary "One Ocean" and in "Performer" the camera follows an extra who is looking for his very own way in the film industry. Night Shift" takes a look at the nursing work in an intensive care unit - combined with the question of the limits of a system. Vibrations - Inner Music" questions our understanding of sound and music, while "From the Inside Out" portrays a Syrian human rights activist in exile in Berlin. The documentary "Ballet" observes the hardships of everyday life in a ballet school and the question of discipline and perseverance.
