Teenagers, Franz, Adrian and Anastasia stumble through a world without consequences. They pass the time with home visits, jaw surgeries, triangle lessons, incest and poetry slams. Their search for identity degenerates to the search for the right role... "Frontalwatte" is the debut feature film of HFF "Konrad Wolf" student Jakob Lass. At the same time, the laconic dramedy is regarded as the initial spark of the "German Mumblecore" movement. Jakob Lass ("Love Steaks") and his brother, the actor and director Tom Lass ("Papa Gold"), have established a fresh new style based on improvisation with their films, to which they have dedicated a manifesto: FOGMA. Remarkable actors such as Franz Rogowski and Lana Cooper have played their way into the consciousness of the German film landscape from the works of the Lass brothers.
