Picasso: The Legacy

Art/Biography, France 2014

Linking closely the private life of the painter with his different artistic periods, this film offers an insightful portrait of the man and the artist over his 20 year long artistic saga. Thanks to family archives and exclusive interviews with close friends and family members this film provides the most intimate portrait of the artist to date and questions the dual nature of his relationships with women. It also explores the complex legal settlement process around Picasso’s estate after he died in April 1973, one of the longest in the history of modern art, thus drawing a comprehensive story of the Picasso family at large. The artist’s endless inspiration is revealed through works discovered after his death, when his estate was settled.
